SG calls for urgent action to achieve gender parity at UN

Unhappy about the “slow” progress made towards achieving gender parity in the United Nations system, Secretary-General BAN Ki-moon has called for redoubling of efforts to reverse the “regrettable trend."

WSIS Implementation: Action Lines

The Tunis Agenda for the Information Society states that the WSIS implementation mechanism at the international level should be organised taking into account the themes and action lines in the Geneva Plan of Action, and moderated or facilitated by UN agencies when appropriate. ITU, UNESCO and UNDP should play leading facilitating roles in the implementation of the Geneva Plan of Action and organise a meeting of moderators/facilitators of action lines.
